The City of South Padre Island’s Environmental Health Services Department reminds you of the 3 R’s during Christmas. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. You can recycle many items during the holidays. The recycling program was developed to reduce items going into landfills that can be harmful to our environment. Please recycle the following items at 4501 Padre Boulevard every Saturday between 8-11 a.m.: plastics with the numbers 1 – 7; aluminum cans, aluminum foil; tin cans; newspaper; office paper, magazines, wrapping paper; cardboard, and gift boxes. Foam and glass are not accepted at this time.

Bring your Christmas tree to 4501 Padre Boulevard EVERY SATURDAY from December 28, 2013 to January 25, 2014, from 8 -11 a.m. Please remove all tinsel, ornaments, lights, nails and tree stands before dropping off the tree for recycling.

Pick up your free mulch in The City of Port Isabel Public Works Department, located at 217 West Hickman, starting December 28, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday, and from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday.
