“The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical” auditions
Get ready for the much anticipated show, The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical. OnSeptember 17th and 18th at 6:30 p.m., El Paseo Arts Foundation will hold auditions at the Art Gallery in Port Isabel. The cast of the show includes six characters, four females and two males. The vocal score requires two sopranos, one second soprano, one alto, and two baritones – or one baritone and one second tenor.
Once again, the show is set at North Florida’s most exclusive manufactured housing community – Armadillo Acres. When Darlene, the trailer park Scrooge, gets a freak bout of amnesia just in time for the Christmas holiday decorating contest, it’s only a matter of time before the festivities include what we’ve come to expect from the residents: cat-fightin’, sun-worshippin’ and chair-throwin’.
The show comes complete with a trailer park version of the twelve days of Christmas and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. What’s unexpected in the show is the dose of heart and humanity that it brings to its audiences. So grab a cold one, tune up your singing voice, and help celebrate the holiday season a little early this year as we make a triumphant return to the trailer park!
Anyone interested in auditioning for the musical should prepare a song and should be prepared to demonstrate his or her ability to harmonize with other singers. Those auditioning will also be asked to learn a few simple dance steps, and to read some lines from the script.
It will be a fun time for all involved so give yourself a chance to be part of the cast and show up at auditions on Sept. 17th and 18th. If you have a serious conflict with the audition dates but want to be in the show, please contact JoAnn Evans at 956-572-5730 to arrange a special audition time.
